He is known for his contributions to socially engaged Buddhism and his criticism of consumerism and unbridled modernisation. He founded several organisations dedicated to social, ecological and educational issues in Thailand. Sivaraksa is also an influential writer, having published books and articles on ethics, social justice and sustainable development. Brasileiro, 61, ed $\"\"$ constructivist researcher in regenerative culture and quality of life, senior facilitator in the Gaia Education Programme. A practitioner and ordained monastic in Soto Zen Buddhism, he lives in Switzerland, where he coordinates the Zurich Zen Center, a practice centre that combines traditional Zen practice with socially engaged spirituality activities, with an emphasis on the daily aspects of practice and interreligious dialogue.
