Facilitated by
Jorge Koho Mello

About the meeting

Our book and reference will be The Wisdom of Sustainability - Buddhist Economics for the 21st Century, from Sulak Sivaraksa, one of the great names in socially engaged Buddhism.

We will offer the text in Portuguese, which has not yet been translated. This will be a rare opportunity to access these teachings on the net in our learning community, with collective support to cross the language and dive into the principles of a a more compassionate and interdependent economy.

About the author of the book: Sulak Sivaraksa is a renowned Thai Buddhist intellectual and social activist, born in 1933. He is known for his contributions to socially engaged Buddhism and his criticism of consumerism and unbridled modernisation. He founded several organisations dedicated to social, ecological and educational issues in Thailand. Sivaraksa is also an influential writer, having published books and articles on ethics, social justice and sustainable development. Throughout his life, he has received several international awards for his work in favour of peace and human rights.

The text will be sent to you via e-mail by sending an e-mail to: jorgekoho@gmail.com
